Over the years quite a number of family history books and pamphlets have been deposited in the Society's library within the John Blatchly Library at The Hold in Ipswich. During a recent stocktake we discovered also some CDs that had been deposited. Unfortunately unless you bring your own CD reader, there is no facility to look at these within the Hold. The CDs were reviewed and the ones that were still accessible were checked and printed out and copies deposited in our library,
On the basis that these were deposited for everyone to see, (our library can be accessed by any visitor to the JBL). then these family histories have now been made available to the wider membership as below. The files were lightly edited, mainly to remove references to still living people, if possible.
We can make no claims as to the accuracy of the information or the veracity of the research behind them. Our only aim is to make them available and allow researchers to determine for themselves.
It is our intention to continue this work, with the next step being.paper copies which could be easily scanned - of which there are about 150, varying in length from a few pages to 200 pages or more..
If you have deposited work and do not want it put on the website, please let us know as soon as possible. As already said, we are working on the assumption that they were deposited for public view.
Other than the aforementioned light editing. The contents are as submitted in the original documents/CD's and we make no guarantee as to the accuracy, correctness etc of these work.
