The Haverhill Group is supporting Haverhill's celebration marking the Centenary of the end of the Great War.
Due to a grant in the Summer from the Co-op Communities for use with education within schools we were able to put on two showings of 'Journey's End' for over 340 students and staff.
During the month of November we will be involved in many events. An exhibition, 'What did your Ancestor do during the Great War?' where members and friends of our group share their discoveries, will take place between 6th and 30th November. This will be supported by an exhibition in the Haverhill Arts Centre Studio over the weekend of the 9th-13th November 'Haverhill in the Great War' at which local schools will be attending to look at the exhibition and take part in workshops.
Our final event 'Haverhill Remembers - Lest We Forget' will take place on the Saturday the 10th of November at the Old Independent Church Haverhill. Our group will be joined by the Haverhill Silver Band, Haverhill Singers, Haverhill & District Choral Society and the choir from Samuel Ward Academy for an evening of music, words and images remembering the 100th Anniversary of the end of the Great War. This is a free event. Everyone is welcome to join us.
